The Department of Spanish Language and Literature at Korea University, established in 1983, opened a new chapter in Spanish and Latin American studies when the significance of the Spanish language and Latin American culture was magnified by globalization.
The Department of Spanish Language and Literature has been at the center of Spanish studies in Korea, conducting systematic research in various fields of Spanish studies with accomplished professors who have studied abroad in Spain, Latin America and the United States.
In particular, our curriculum focuses on the Spanish language as well as the literature and culture of the Spanish-speaking world so that it can help students play a leading role in expanding the spectrum of exchanges with Spanish-speaking countries. We have made student exchange agreements with universities in Spain, Mexico, Columbia, Chile, Uruguay, Argentina and Peru in order to facilitate mutual exchanges among students.
